Class NEWS - May 11, 2018

We have been having such a FUN time in first grade. Here's what we've been up to lately...

ENDANGERED ANIMALS:
Students have researched an endangered animal and written a report on their animal. They have also used BookCreator on the iPad to write a book. Lastly, they are currently working on using the collage technique to create pictures for their fictional story about their endangered animal. 

CRUISING the CONTINENTS:
We are just beginning this awesome unit. We traveled to Kenya and learned about the continent of Africa. They each made a beaded bracelet. Students have also learned two songs: We've Got the Whole World and So Many Children. Next week, they will travel to South Korea, Antarctica and Hawaii. 

FIELD TRIP:
We had a BLAST at the Dover Children's Museum on Wednesday. Students were very respectful and responsible. We explored all of the exhibits, ate lunch outside and had fun learning about celebrations around the world.
